Generosity is the foundation of the Six Perfections of Buddhist practice. There are many ways that someone can give to support the mission of RKSA. Every act of joyful generosity brings us closer to Enlightenment.

Each scheduled program and service at RKSA is offered at no cost to our members. Our community relies solely on the generosity of our members, supporters, and visitors to continue providing these programs and services.

We ask you to consider making a pledge of financial support. Making a pledge simply means declaring how much you expect to contribute to the center during a set period of time (week, month, year).

Where does my pledge go?

Your pledge, along with every generous donation, remains right here at RKSA — directly sustaining nearly every facet of our mission. From facility maintenance and essential utilities to nourishing food products, vital supplies, program development, travel support, and religious education, your contributions make it all possible. In fact, our members’ pledges alone support nearly the entire church budget, ensuring that our spiritual home continues to thrive and serve.

All donations made to Rissho Kosei-kai of San Antonio are used exclusively to support the Center’s spiritual mission, programs, and operational needs. None of the donated funds are distributed to individuals at the Center as compensation or reimbursement for their efforts.

How much should I pledge?

At the San Antonio Buddhist Center, we honor the realities of daily life and the financial challenges many face. Giving is a deeply personal decision, and we encourage you to reflect on your own circumstances—considering your personal and family needs—before choosing an amount that feels meaningful and heartfelt.

Whether you give weekly, monthly, or annually, your contribution—no matter the size—plays a vital role in sustaining our community. We invite each person to consider a pledge that is both responsible and significant based on individual means, perhaps 1%, 5%, or even 10% of your net income.

Most of our members are able to offer some amount regularly, and every act of generosity is received with deep gratitude. Above all, know this: your presence is always the most precious gift. You are a valued part of our community, regardless of your financial contribution.
