  • Who is welcome to get married at RKSA?
    Everyone is welcome! We welcome people who are members of our church or non-members. There is no requirement to be a member of Rissho Kosei-kai.
  • What is the capacity of the Sanctuary?
    The Sanctuary comfortably holds 80-100 people.
  • How is the Sanctuary configured?
    The Sanctuary is long and rectangular in shape. The size is 44 x 22'.
  • What facilities are available if I rent?
    The Sanctuary, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, several accessory rooms of various sizes can be made available for Wedding preparations or post-wedding gathering.
  • What are the options for music?
    The sound technician can play recorded music the wedding party provides. Access to the church’s microphone setup for live musicians can be provided for a nominal fee.
  • What are the guidelines around decorations?
    Flowers, decorations and decorating services are not provided by RKSA. Facility users are free to provide and put up their own decorations as long as the decorations can be installed and removed without causing damage to any surface. Attaching devices such as tacks, nails and tape are prohibited. Decorations must be removed by the Renters prior to the end of the agreed time period of the Event. Decorations removal can be provided for a nominal fee.
  • What days are available for weddings?
    The Sanctuary may be available on any day, but Saturdays will be the most practical and preferable.
  • Can the church provide a minister?
    Officiant services are not included in the cost of the wedding package. Based on the minister’s schedule, officiant services may be available but must be arranged with the minister directly and additional fees will apply. Members of Rissho Kosei-kai Buddhist Center will have the Minister of RKSA as the officiant if they request. No party is obligated to use our minister for your ceremony, and you are welcome to propose an officiant of your choosing for approval by the Senior Minister.
  • When is the rehearsal?
    The rehearsal will be held on the Friday evening before the wedding.
  • May we tour the venue?
    Tours are available by appointment. Please fill out and submit the form on this page to schedule a tour.
  • May the reception be held at the church?
    Depending on the size and scope of the Reception, it is possible. The Facility Manager will discuss this with you and confirm. The fee for use of the Facility as a Reception area will incur another fee. The fee will be dependent on size and scope of the Event. This facility is a Non-Alcohol, Non-Drug, Non-smoking facility.
  • What are the fees and what do they include?
    Wedding fee for non-members is a base rate of $500 plus a damage deposit of $250. A rental deposit of $100 is due when booking the event in order to reserve the date. The balance is due 30 days before the event. If no damage occurs, the deposit is refunded within 1 week of the wedding. The fee includes access to the sanctuary for 3 hours for the rehearsal and 3 hours for the wedding. The time allotted includes time to decorate and remove decorations. If the Facility is used for the Wedding Reception, the fee for the Reception will be $500. The Facility will be available for the Reception for 3 hours after the Wedding ends. The Renter is responsible for leaving the Facility in the same condition they found it. The Renter is responsible for any damage incurred at the Facility. The base rate includes setup of 2 microphones and a sound technician who will be present during the live portions of the rehearsal and wedding. A dedicated facilities assistant will be present during the entire allotted time for the rehearsal and wedding. There are no set fees for members wishing to use the facility.
