I I
Proposal : Last Sunday, we held an "impromptu" Town Hall to discuss the future path of our Hoza Practice. I was quite surprised by the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to the “Town-Hall" discussion from our Sangha members over the next 48 hours. Based on that response, I would like to propose an experimental idea :
A new Town Hall Series : A new opportunity to foster Listening and Communication within the Sangha
Proposal : Beginning in July, 2026……
Each 4th Sunday of ODD # months - ( January, March, May, July, September, November ) We will hold Small Group Meetings.
A designated Sangha member ( not DT ) would lead an open discussion with a small group. We would try to place a DT or Leader within each Group to assure integrity of mission. The discussion can be determined within the group and could include ideas such as : issues at home, ideas for the Center, problems, good news, etc.
We could include a Small Group online as well.
After the small group activity, each leader would share any important ideas or information with a designated DT ( perhaps this is a good role for Jennifer C and Andréa ? It would allow them to develop intimacy with the members )
Each 4th Sunday of EVEN # months - ( February, April, June, August, October, December ) We will hold a Large Group Town Hall - All members together, with snacks and coffee provided.
Subject : Specific topic. The topic could be something identified by Small groups, a topic identified by leadership team, a dharma discussion, etc.
- This Activity might assure that the members have an opportunity to be heard by other members, increasing our socialization within the community.
- This also might help assure a focus on Listening during Hoza, since there would be opportunities to share concerns etc. during Small Group Talks.
- This activity might help us identify new leaders, potential problems, new ideas, ways to increase member - involvement, fundraising ideas, etc.
Please feel free to share your thoughts via text, email, or just plain talk
